We are an independent community pharmacy dedicated to serving our local community. Our focus is on providing support to everyone, from grandmothers to children in need. With affordable and accessible services available until 10 PM, we strive to meet every customer's needs. Ours is simple: "never turn a customer away."
We offer excellent service untill 10pm 365 days of the year. We are open public holidays & over the holiday seasons. We offer compounding services & clinic services with 4 nurses on duty & a prescribing pharmacist. Our over 75 years knowledge on skin conditions is hard to beat.
Our opening hours is:
Monday to Sunday & public holidays - 8.30AM-10.00PM
Christmas Day: 08.30AM-2PM and 5-10PM
Our Story
Braude's Pharmacy, founded in 1948 by Eli Braude, started as a modest venture. Eli developed several original creams that are still utilized today. In 1974, Lionel Morkel took the helm, expanding the business, which is currently run by David and Ilse Morkel. They offer a variety of services, emphasize security, and are dedicated to community engagement. Ilse, a UWC pharmacy graduate and prescribing pharmacist with 15 years of experience, specializes in skin conditions, while David manages operations, security efforts, and charitable activities. Additionally, Ilse serves as a tutor for three pharmacy students and has previously mentored numerous pharmacy interns and assistants. She also operates the prescribing clinic with the support of her three clinic sisters. Ilse was nominated for the Adcock Sponsors of Brave Campaign in 2020 and ranked among the top five pharmacists in South Africa during the campaign.
